Thorpeness as a base near Sizewell
Thorpeness is unlike anywhere else on the coast. Built as a private holiday village in the early twentieth century, it kept its mock-Tudor frontages, its boating lake painted with Peter Pan scenes, and the famous water-tower-disguised-as-a-cottage that gives the village its photo. There is almost no traffic and almost no noise. For a placement in the area, the question is rarely about the town in isolation, it is about how the town fits the way the work moves. Thorpeness fits in the way described above.
