Project work

Sizewell Outage Accommodation; a base for shift crews and shutdown teams, on short notice.

Outage and shutdown windows are the sharpest test of an accommodation provider. Headcount spikes for a fixed window, the dates can shift on a week's notice, and crews want to be as close to the gate as possible. Hotels around Suffolk fill out, Airbnbs price up, and the people who book early end up with the best stock.

We hold capacity through the year specifically for outage work, particularly on our larger Leiston townhouses, which sleep up to ten across multiple bathrooms and have the parking to take a fleet of vans. The arrangement is designed to be straightforward: one contact, one invoice, one set of keys for the house.

What an outage stay needs

Practical things, mostly. Beds with proper mattresses for shift workers who need real sleep. Multiple bathrooms so the morning rotation works. A kitchen and dining table that can take a crew sat down together. Van parking on our larger crew houses, with no neighbour drama. WiFi for handovers and evening calls. A washing machine and drying space. Quiet at night.

  • Sleeping up to 10 in a single property
  • Multiple bathrooms, typically 3+ on crew houses
  • Driveway parking for vans and multiple vehicles on crew houses
  • WiFi included on every property
  • Boot rooms and drying space at our coastal homes
  • Mid-stay clean and linen change

Why book ahead

Outage windows are public knowledge weeks if not months in advance. The single best thing you can do as a project lead is get the dates onto our calendar early, even provisionally. We hold dates without payment for company bookings while you confirm internally; once the window is locked we tend to be full inside a couple of weeks.

If your dates shift

They usually do, and we manage it. Date shifts on a confirmed booking are handled without rebooking fees when we have notice; if the property genuinely cannot move, we'll move you to an equivalent one in the same area at the same rate.

FAQs

Common questions.

How early should we book outage accommodation?

As early as you have provisional dates. Six to twelve weeks is comfortable; less is workable but the choice of properties tightens.

Can a single property sleep our whole crew?

Yes, our Leiston High Street and Valley Road houses each sleep up to ten across five bedrooms with multiple bathrooms. For larger crews we co-locate two houses.

Will the dates and headcount be flexible?

Yes. We expect them to move and our process handles it. Tell us early and there is rarely a charge for changes.

Do you invoice the contracting company?

Yes. Direct invoice to the company with PO reference and VAT. Personal payment is also fine.
