For contractors

Contractor Accommodation Near Sizewell; built for crews, project leads and rotational stays.

Contractor accommodation near Sizewell has its own shape. Shifts start early, plans change at short notice, and the difference between a productive placement and a frustrating one often comes down to where you sleep and how easy it is to get in and out of the property. We run a small, hand-picked portfolio of houses and apartments across the IP15–IP19 area, set up specifically for the rhythm of the Sizewell area work.

Every property is sourced and managed by one Suffolk-based operator. There is no Airbnb middleman, no managed-rental upcharge, and no surprise fees on extensions. One enquiry, one contact, one invoice, for one engineer or a six-person crew.

What contractors tell us actually matters

After a few hundred the Sizewell area bookings the pattern is clear. The things that come up again and again on enquiries and on check-out feedback are not luxury extras — they are the practical fundamentals that decide whether a property works for a working week on site.

  • Off-street or driveway parking for at least one work vehicle, ideally two.
  • Fast, reliable WiFi for evening reports, video calls and streaming.
  • A real kitchen with a full-size fridge, hob and dishwasher — not a holiday-let mini kit.
  • Beds you can sleep on after a 12-hour shift, with fresh linen on arrival.
  • Flexible check-in for late arrivals and a clear point of contact if anything breaks.

Single rooms, whole houses, crew bases

Most enquiries fall into three buckets. Single engineers want a quiet room with a good desk and easy parking — often for four to twelve weeks. Project leads want a whole one- or two-bed property they can lock and leave on weekends home. Crews of three to eight want a single house with enough bedrooms, two bathrooms and a living space big enough to actually decompress in.

We size the property to the booking rather than overplacing a solo engineer in a five-bed house or squeezing a crew into a property that's too small. Tell us the headcount and shift pattern on enquiry and we'll match accordingly.

Commute from the properties we run

Drive times to the Sizewell site gate are the metric most contractors care about. The numbers below are based on early-shift runs in summer and autumn — peak-season holiday traffic on the A12 can add ten to fifteen minutes in the afternoon.

  • Leiston: 8–12 minutes.
  • Saxmundham: 15–20 minutes.
  • Wenhaston / Halesworth: 25–30 minutes.
  • Southwold: 25–35 minutes.
  • Woodbridge: 35–40 minutes.

How booking and payment work

Send your dates, group size and any preferences on the enquiry form. We reply within one working day with available options, total cost and a hold while you confirm with procurement or your line manager. We invoice directly — no platform fees, no per-night service charges. Extensions are charged at the same nightly rate as the original booking, not bumped to a peak rate.

Company bookings, PO numbers and split invoicing across multiple crew members are all handled in-house. If you need a specific format or supplier onboarding, just say so on first contact.

FAQs

Common questions.

Do you only host the Sizewell area contractors?

No — we host leisure stays, family visits and contractors from other Suffolk projects too. But contractor stays are the majority of our bookings, and the properties are set up with that use in mind.

Can a company book on behalf of multiple workers?

Yes. We regularly invoice a single employer for several properties or rooms across a project. Send the headcount, dates and billing entity and we'll structure it from there.

What if our project dates slip?

Date shifts are part of every major project. Tell us as soon as you know and we'll move the booking where availability allows — at the original nightly rate, not a re-quote.

Is parking included at the properties?

Most properties have driveway, garage or allocated parking included. A small number of in-town homes use nearby on-street parking — we flag this on the listing and on confirmation.

Can I view a property before booking?

For longer rotational stays we can arrange viewings where the property is between bookings. For shorter stays we rely on photos, floorplans and a phone call to talk through fit.

Brief us on the placement.

Send dates, headcount and any preferences. We'll reply within one working day with matched properties and a clear total — no platform fees, no surprises.
